ROM - October 2015
Winery to Winery
The Stolen Towns
We customarily celebrate the end of Elmo's tax season with a special ride.  Inspired by Harpoon's "Brewery to Brewery" ride, we created our "Winery to Winery" ride.  The east side of Narragansett Bay was part of Massachusetts until King George stole it, reassigning it to Rhode Island.  In the spirit of continuing BikeMass351+, plus our ongoing tour of Rhode Island, we connected the dots from Sakonnet Vineyard in Little Compton, RI to Westport Rivers Winery in Westport, MA.

Joined by friends Steve and Jonette, we had a glorious day of riding.  While the 23 mile round trip sounded easy, the rolling hills made them more work  than we expected.  We were, however, pleasantly surprised by the breadth and quality of the wines at both vineyards, and greatly enjoyed our lunch at Sakonnet.  We finished with cars laden with purchases at both wineries, and discussion of "when can we do something like this again".  A successful day!
